Charles would not survive in a proper leadership job- imagine home running a hospital
@@MM-kq8gcimagine everything you have ever done is under scrutiny by an entire country 24/7. The monarch (and the whole Royal family for that matter) work with maybe hundreds of charities, they act as a cultural ambassador, the monarchy is a large reason behind why the UK hasn't turned into a third world country when it comes to the economy. They work harder than most of us ever will, only in a different way. Also they do pay an income tax, and pay more in tax than most.
This shows that they are already going against the oath that they took. They took the oath of allegiance and now they are talking against it. They need to be changed ASAP
The monarchy is the pinnacle of everything that has made us poor, powerless and dependent
The King like us all should fight to protect the weakest Britain, and we should support him!
If you don’t like it don’t be an MP
Here we have. A problem most of us, will never encounter 😐
Its normally those who say its nonsense are the real traitors
Don’t be an MP then, if you don’t agree with the tradition of oath and what it means, then you won’t uphold it, thus rendering your duty a nonsense. Absolutely ludicrous
This was Sinn Fein's policy for quite some time. Refuse the oath, leave the seat vacant.
We can't only have politicians who like a particular person.
@@FizzyJuiceCool thats their form of democracy 😂

Why is Jeremy corbyn still about can he have a heart attack already
and you think they are going to be loyal to their constituents.
Did they not know that they had to give an oath to the Monarch when becoming a MP? Why isn’t there a Republican Party (not affiliated with the US) in the UK that these MPs could join?
Charles didn't keep his wedding vows.
they should be exiled
Well done to them. MPs aren’t elected to represent the King, they’re there to represent their constituents.
Even if you believe in the monarchy, surely you can recognise that the House of Lords (that around 70% of brits want to abolish) is there to be the house of King and Nobility.
Our MPs should take their oaths to us and to protect our wellbeing and human rights.
What about their oath to FOI any questions asked or they bow to pure corruption.
The same old suspects. Would be interesting to change the oath and get them to swear allegiance to the country. I wonder how many would protest to do that - a fair few I'm guessing.
You would be wrong,I’m guessing.
@@rowancrew2934 you really think so! I think it far more likely that I'm right.
And that shows a democracy in a free country in action. The oath might not be to the liking of some, but they have the freedom to voice their thoughts without the risk of repercussions
If you don’t like it, you know where to go
They shouldn't be allowed in then. Simple
Good on them saying
" Under protest "
I 2nd that. 👍
North of Ireland just needs to rejoin the south.
Don't take it then. Do another job. That's what you have to do to take a seat I'm the commons. Northern Ireland is an empty formula mate why don't you go back there and stay.
What's the problem? They could swear an oath to the people & actually be legally bound to being honest instead of swearing an oath to a nepotistic biological antique.
Don't like the video? Just leave then. Why stay and comment if you dont like it?
You see why that argument makes no sense, right?
@@FriendlyNeighbourhoodSkumbag You're just demonstrating to everyone reading your comment how uneducated you are. FFS.
@Bazz669 Clearly you didn't notice, but they did it - took the oath, despite protesting at having to do so.
Notice how they still take the oath, as its required for their 90k salary, minted pension and benefits
It should be no oath no mp
Then they shouldn't sit in parliament.
I like the monarchy but personally I think you should get the option to give an oath to the either the king or the country
Do not want to take the oath? Give up your seat.
The King is the past, present and future in one.
It is utter nonsense!
These people are about as accountable to 'the people' as royalty. Screw anyone who has protest against this. That bloke has the freedom to leave for the Republic of Ireland and become an MP or whatever there..
They took the oath all the same.
Clive Lewis served in the Territorial Army he would have have sworn the oath of allegiance then!!! He is a weirdo
Absolutely shameful. Embarassed that this person represents Norwich.
People voted against the Tories, not for republican nonsense.
Well that just sums up these MPs who really don’t care about this country, they just want their money!!!
Their politics is nonsense!
I don't want to represent the crown, or my constituency, I'm here for the power.
No one forces you to, we don't care about your protestations.
Charlie the kiddie fiddler
They end up serving the "civil power" in the city of london anyways though - since it's a land where capital is king.
They refused to let the king in once and kept him waiting until he met the city of london demands, and they make him wait every year on behalf of the same family.
